HC Deb 04 December 1962 vol 668 c149W
40. Mr. Skeffington

asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science whether he is aware that the public and persons engaged in scientific work are insufficiently informed of the nature and extent of the activities of his Department, as distinct from the activities of the research councils for which his Department is responsible; and, since the research councils already issue annual reports, whether his Department will now do likewise.

Mr. Denzil Freeth

I cannot accept the hon. Member's first premise. As I stated in a reply in this House last February, my noble Friend does not consider that a separate Annual Report is necessary.
