HC Deb 02 August 1962 vol 664 cc134-5W
Mr. Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Education if he will state the number of students enrolled in traffic engineering courses at the technical colleges during the session 1961–62.

Sir E. Boyle

Traffic engineering is taught in technical colleges both in courses which do not lead to recognised qualifications and as a component subject of a wider syllabus. College returns of student numbers are, however, not detailed enough to allow the identification of the students concerned.

Mr. Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Education, at which universities courses in traffic engineering will be available during the 1962–63 academic year; and at which technical collages short courses in traffic engineering will be available during the session 1962–63.

Sir E. Boyle

The University Grants Committee informs me that its latest information is as stated in the Answer to my hon. Friend on 13th April. The information asked for in the second part of the Question is not included in the returns made by colleges to my Department.
