asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the present level of potato stocks in Scotland; and how long he estimates that these will last.

The Potato Marketing Board estimate that present stocks of ware potatoes in Scotland are of the order of 30 to 40 thousand tons. There are too many uncertain factors in the situation to make it possible to predict with any certainty how long these stocks will last. It will depend in particular
