Mr. H. Wilson

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state, for each year from 1946 to the present time, for the Lancashire and Cheshire sides, respectively, of the Merseyside Development Area as defined in the 1949 Merseyside Development Area Order, the number of factories over 5,000 square feet in area approved and completed, respectively, the total area of factory space involved, and the approximate numbers employed when in full production or estimated to be employed when approval was given.

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state in respect of the Lancashire and Cheshire sides, respectively, of the Merseyside Development Area, as defined in the 1949 Merseyside Development Area Order, the number of firms receiving assistance under the Distribution of Industry Acts, 1945 and 1950, and the total floor area of the factories involved, and for the Lancashire and Cheshire areas, respectively, of Merseyside, the number and floor area of factories receiving assistance under the Local Employment Act, 1960.
