§ LORD NEWTONI regret that the information asked for in the first part of the question is not available. On July 1, 1960, approximately 47,000 medical practitioners were practising under the National Health Service in the hospital and specialist and the general medical services in Great Britain. Many doctors included in these figures have some pri-170WA vate practice. There are no figures for doctors wholly engaged in private practice.
