§ 51. Sir S. Storeyasked the Minister of Transport if he will take action to amend Section 66 (2) of the Road Traffic Act, 1960, so that the Section applies at any time to all cars manufactured not less than 10 years before that time.
§ Mr. MarplesFor the effective operation of the vehicle testing scheme the criterion must be the date on which a vehicle is first registered for use on the 131W road, which may be very different from the date of manufacture. I am unable therefore to adopt my hon. Friend's suggestion.
