§ 61. Mr. Liptonasked the Minister of Transport to what extent the number of parking places for Christmas traffic in the Pink Zone this year will be less than two years ago; and what are the reasons for the change.
§ Mr. MarplesIn 1959 we had 17 Christmas car parks with over 6,000 car spaces. In 1960 there were 20 parks with 2,785 car spaces. This year we shall have 10 parks with 2,130 spaces, all near the central shopping area. In 1959 and 1960 parks further out were barely used; for instance, last year eight of the parks never held more than three cars between them.
