§ Mr. A. Royleasked the Minister of Works if he will introduce legislation to increase the maximum fine of £5 for exceeding the 30 miles per hour speed limit in Richmond Park to that applicable for the same offence on the public highway, namely, £20 for the first conviction.
§ Lord John HopeIt is certainly undesirable that infringement of the speed limit regulations should carry lower maximum penalties in the Parks than outside. I am considering whether the case is not covered by Section 4 (1) of the Road Traffic Act, 1960.
