Mr. K. Thompson

188,700 in October, 1950, 190,737 in October, 1955, and 197,322 in October, 1960.

Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Minister of Education if he will give the number of schools in Wales where meals are served without any ancillary staff being available to assist the teachers.

Mr. K. Thompson

According to information received from local education authorities some 2,000 schools in Wales are without supervisory help. Of this number, some 400 are secondary schools, where such help is not normally needed.
