asked the Minister of Transport if he will give a general direction to the British Transport Commission not to permit racial discrimination in connection with employment of staff.

asked the Minister of Transport if he will give a general direction to the British Transport Commission to ensure that no racial discrimination is practised in the engagement of its employees.

No. I am assured by the Chairman of the British Transport Commission that it is already the policy of the Commission that no colour-bar should apply in the engagement of its employees.
