§ Mr. Proudfootasked the President of the Board of Trade (1) if he will reduce the import tariff of 20 per cent. on steam rail locomotives and tenders;
(2) if he will reduce the import tariff of 20 per cent. on cycles not motorised;
(3) if he will reduce the import tariff of 30 per cent. on cars;
(4) if he will reduce the tax import tariff of 33⅓ per cent. on pipe cleaners.
§ Mr. MaudlingNo. Tariff reductions are normally made only as the result of18W international agreements in which we secure compensating concessions or after full-scale inquiry into applications from organisations representative of United Kingdom users.
