§ 49. Mr. Teelingasked the Lord Privy Seal what progress has been made concerning the claims of Baltic bondholders; and what is now the final date for the registration of all Baltic claims.
§ Mr. P. ThomasOne thousand and twenty-nine claims in respect of Baltic bonds have been registered up to 6th July.
No final date for the registration of claims has been fixed, but it is in the 6W interests of all claimants that any outstanding claims should be submitted to the Foreign Compensation Commission without further delay so that they may be included in the negotiations.
On 22nd June Her Majesty's Ambassador in Moscow was informed by the Soviet Government that they were prepared in principle to open negotiations in the last quarter of this year on the claims on both sides which have arisen since 1939. Our claims include those in respect of the Baltic bonds.
