§ Sir H. Legge-Bourkeasked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what progress has been made since October, 1960, in the development of conducting, insulating, magnetic, and structural materials capable of withstanding very high temperatures.
§ Mr. Denzil FreethWork on the development of new materials and research into their properties is carried out by industrial firms, the Atomic Energy Authority, universities and Government laboratories. New laboratories are being set up both at the National Physical Laboratory and at the National Engineering Laboratory for work on the properties of materials suitable for use at high temperatures.
