§ 78. Mr. P. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what recent action has been taken by the Alkali Inspectorate to deal with the public nuisance of the fumes emitted from the works of Derby Metals Limited.
§ Sir K. JosephFollowing an approach by the Alkali Inspectorate the firm has recently reduced the proportion of dirty scrap being used, in order to reduce smoke and fume emissions. It has also ordered a new unit for the treatment of molten aluminium, which should contribute to a further improvement.
