§ Sir F. Markhamasked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been drawn to the conclusion of the Select Committee on Estimates on Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments in which it was recommended that the listing and scheduling of such national treasures should be completely under the Ministry of Works; and whether he will make an announcement regarding future Government policy in this field.
§ The Prime MinisterThis suggestion comes within the purview of the Working Group which, under the Chairmanship of my hon. Friend the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, is considering questions of Government organisation in this field. An announcement will be made when the Working Group has reached its conclusions.
