asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what provision exists for assisted emigration from St. Helena to the United Kingdom.

Mr. Iain Macleod:

Under an arrangement with the Ministry of Labour vacancies are found for single men from St. Helena as hotel workers in this country. Those wishing to take these jobs are given assistance towards the cost of their passages to the United Kingdom.
