HC Deb 09 February 1961 vol 634 c92W
Mr. Owen

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what steps his Department have taken to ensure the success of Commonwealth Technical Training Week, to be held from 29th May to 4th June, 1961, organised by the City and Guilds of London Institute, and supported by the Associated Examining Board, and county and borough councils; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Sandys:

My Department attaches great importance to the success of Commonwealth Technical Training Week and has from the outset kept in touch with the arrangements being made. It has, where necessary, advised the City and Guilds of London Institute and the departments concerned, and has helped with arrangements for the supply of films, visual material, etc. It will continue to give every assistance in its power to the organisations concerned.

Our Information Services overseas have distributed publicity for various media about Commonwealth Technical Training Weeks and will continue to do so.
