asked the President of the Board of Trade how many applications he has received for the Isle of Wight under the Local Employment Act, 1960; how many have been approved; how many are under consideration; and how many new jobs have been provided, and how many are in prospect, including those to be provided by firms who have not received assistance under the Local Employment Act, 1960.

Fifteen applications have been received, of which six have been approved. None is under consideration. The number of persons now employed by firms who have had offers of financial assistance is about 350; the number of additional jobs in prospect in these and other projects is about 800.
