HC Deb 21 December 1961 vol 651 c184W
66. Sir R. Glyn

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, what was the equivalent in £ sterling of the foreign exchange required to buy a live fat bullock, at the average import price for the first 10 months of 1961; and if he will give the same average price for a live sheep imported for slaughter.

Mr. Vane

Imports of fat cattle and sheep come exclusively from the Irish Republic. In the ten months January to October, 1961, the average value of imported fat cattle was £67 2s. per head. The price for sheep was £4 12s.
