HC Deb 21 December 1961 vol 651 c175W
Mr. Watkins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer who is responsible for the initiating of the construction of a factory at Knighton, Radnorshire; if he is satisfied that sufficient progress is being made in the work; and whether he will indicate who is responsible to him that every possible support is given to the firm interested.

Sir E. Boyle

The factory at Knighton, which is being financed by the Development Fund, will be built by contractors supervised by the Industrial Estates Management Corporation for Wales. Preparation of plans is proceeding swiftly and it is hoped that work will start early in the New Year.

Mr. Watkins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made by the Development Commission for Wales in the provision of the factory at Llandrindod Wells, Radnorshire; and whether he will make a statement.

Sir E. Boyle

I understand from the Development Commissioners that they have received no application in respect of a factory at Llandrindod Wells.
