HC Deb 25 April 1961 vol 639 cc22-3W
47. Mr. Prentice

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a further statement on his talks with President Kennedy, in so far as they related to the prevention of the continued spread of nuclear weapons.

The Prime Minister

I have nothing to add to what I told the House on 13th April.

48. Mr. A. Roberts

asked the Prime Minister what changes of British defence or foreign policy he proposes to make following his recent discussions with the President of the United States of America.

The Prime Minister

The defence and foreign policy of Her Majesty's Government is designed to match the changing pattern of events. The great benefit to be derived from full and frank discussions like those that I had with President Kennedy is that each side knows the other's point of view and understands the other's problems. In fact, there was a very remarkable degree of agreement between us on almost every important issue.
