§ Mr. BrookeNew public swimming pools must be designed to the standards recommended in the report "The Purification of the Water of Swimming Baths", published in 1951 by the Stationery Office.
Local authorities may make byelaws for regulating conditions in swimming baths, whether their own or not. School swimming pools are approved by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Education.
Medical Officers of Health are responsible for informing themselves of matters affecting, or likely to affect, the public health in their districts.
I have no information that adequate standards of hygiene in swimming pools are not being maintained.
