Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Minister of Works why it is proposed to spend £3,403 in 1961–62 on the Garage Block at Marlborough House; and whether he will give the details of such expenditure.

In addition to garages and workshops, the Garage Block at Marlborough House contains 10 flats occupied by Palace staff. Details are as follows:

£
1,500 for day to day cleaning, maintenance and repair of the structure and sanitary services.
610 for operation, maintenance and repair of the engineering plant and services.
350 for painting.
521 towards the wages of nightwatchmen at Marlborough House.
50 for minor furnishings for office keeper's flat.
795 for fuel, gas, electricity, water and household articles.
3,826
423 from residents.
£3,403 Net total.
