§ Lord John HopeThe estimate of £50,000 is a preliminary estimate based on sketch plans. It comprises £25,000 for work necessary anyhow to restore the fabric, and a further £25,000 for the renewal and modernisation of services, decorations and fittings, etc., to make the Apartment habitable. No more detailed breakdown of the estimate can be given at this early stage in the planning.
