§ 61. Mr. Awberyasked the Lord Privy Seal what further requests he has received from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for help with the relief programme for the refugees from Algeria; what assistance has been promised the High Commissioner for this purpose; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HeathOn 28th February the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees sent a circular to the Governments represented on his Executive 103W Committee asking for contributions in cash or kind towards the relief programme for the refugees from Algeria in Morocco and Tunisia. I discussed this matter with the High Commissioner when he was in London two days ago and told him that the question of Her Majesty's Government's response to the appeal was being carefully considered.
