Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many loans have been made to private woodland owners in England and Wales, separately, in each of the last five years; how much they totalled in each year; and what were the highest and lowest loans.

Mr. Soames

The number of loans made and the annual amounts are shown in the following table. The highest loan was £8,000 and the lowest £250.

The number of schemes on which grants were paid and the total annual payments are shown in the following table. The highest individual grant payment was £4,840 and the lowest £3 15s.
