HC Deb 09 November 1960 vol 629 cc57-8W
Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Postmaster-General why the number of no pick-up telephone calls is increasing in the central areas of London; and what steps he is taking, either by way of new plant or improved maintenance, to reduce the number.

Mr. Bevins

Normally these failures are very infrequent, but the abnormally wet weather of recent months has had its effect on the cables. These are being put right as quickly as possible and I believe that my hon. Friend will see an improvement.
