Mr. Randall

asked the Minister of Labour what were the numbers of unemployed, male and female, in the Gateshead district at the most recent date, together with the figures expressed in percentage rates of unemployment.

Mr. Hare

At 10th October, there were 1,393 males and 395 females, 2.8 per cent. and 1.8 per cent. respectively, registered as unemployed at employment exchanges and youth employment offices in Gateshead, Blaydon and Felling.
