HC Deb 09 November 1960 vol 629 c49W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the dangerous traffic conditions and serious congestion on A.337 at Highcliffe, that a scheme for diverting 78 per cent. of the traffic away from the shopping centre has been prepared, but that no grant has yet been made by his Department towards the carrying out of this proposal; and when he proposes to make such a grant.

Mr. Marples

I am told that serious congestion on A.337 occurs only at peak periods during the summer. A diversion to relieve Highcliffe's shopping centre of traffic is included in the county development plan, but the county council has not yet made application for grant for it.
