§ 59. Mr. Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if, in view of the fact that the Geneva Conference on the Law of the Sea broke down by such a small and fortuitous vote, he will propose to the United Nations that the conference be reconvened at an early date.
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreIt is too early to decide whether that would be appropriate. However, Her Majesty's Government are urgently studying with others concerned the best course to take. I hope that an announcement can be made shortly.
