HC Deb 02 May 1960 vol 622 c29W
30. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the mentally deficient patients in the Bristol area have not had dental treatment for several years; what is the reason for this; and what steps are being taken to rectify this state of affairs.

Miss Pitt

I know there have been difficulties in arranging for the provision of this treatment, though I understand that, when the services of a dentist have not been available locally for these patients, arrangements have been made for emergency dental treatment to be given at other hospitals. A full-time dentist has now been appointed to the Hortham-Brentry Hospital Group and is due to take up his appointment on 1st June.
