asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether there is to be an increased victualling allowance for those serving in Her Majesty's ships.

We have decided to improve the standard of messing afloat, particularly in the smaller ships, as from 1st July, 1960. The average increase in the monetary allowance will be 12 per cent. or 6d. a day.
