HC Deb 29 June 1960 vol 625 cc133-4W
Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies for what specific reason Mr. E. M. K. Mulira is rusticated in Uganda; what representations he has had to secure his release; and what opportunity Mr. Mulira has for current consideration of his case.

Mr. Iain Macleod

Mr. Mulira is rusticated because, in the Governor's opinion, his release would constitute a danger to peace and good order in Uganda. There have been representations about the application of the deportation orders, but I am aware of no representations addressed to me specifically directed to the release of Mr. Mulira. The Governor is keeping Mr. Mulira's case under continuous review.
