HC Deb 02 February 1960 vol 616 c124W
Mr. Marten

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will arrange that there shall be no postal deliveries on Christmas Day, 1960, as an experiment to test out public reaction, in order that postmen may spend Christmas Day, particularly the morning, with their families.

Miss Pike

This is not an easy matter to decide and I intend to examine it carefully when we come to consider the arrangements for next Christmas. I will certainly bear in mind the possibility mentioned by my hon. Friend.
