§ Mr. Priorasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make a statement on the continuation of grant and loans under the White Fish and Herring Industries Acts of 1953 and 1957.
Mr. VaneThe White Fish Authority has now reached the limit of expenditure on grants and will shortly reach the limit on loans. An order under the Sea Fish Industry Act, 1959, to make a further sum of £2 million available for grants was laid and a Bill to enable further loans to be made was presented to Parliament on 21st December.
