Mr. Hector Hughesasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state in detail why he refused to approve a grant to the firm of Canvas Products, Limited, Tipton, Staffordshire, which sought his assistance and approval to move to Aberdeen; and if he will now reconsider his decision and give them the grant and assistance they seek.
§ Mr. MaudlingIn the absence of a recommendation from the Board of Trade Advisory Committee, I have no powers to offer assistance. But it is open to the firm to ask the Advisory Committee to reconsider their decision if there are changed circumstances or new facts of which the Committee were not aware when this application was rejected five months ago.
