§ 56. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Transport if he has now received the report from the Aberdeen Harbour Commissioners about the pontoon docks; and whether he has decided to provide the finance to carry out the necessary repairs or for a new pontoon dock.
§ Mr. MarplesI have received and considered this report in conjunction with the other interested Ministers. The Government are not prepared to support the proposal in the report that the replacement of Nos. 2 and 3 pontoon docks at Aberdeen should be entirely financed from national funds. The Working Party set up by the Harbour Commission are accordingly preparing a new financial plan.
