HC Deb 14 December 1960 vol 632 cc57-8W
95. Mr. Wall

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether the Admiralty have been kept in touch with the development of Polaris; and whether, in view of recent successful firings, it is now proposed to develop a British missile submarine.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

As I told the House on 7th March, we are obtaining very full information from the U.S. Navy. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Defence informed the House on 16th November that we do not yet need to decide whether we shall require a Polaris type submarine.
