HC Deb 20 November 1959 vol 613 c169W
Captain Kerby

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what progress has been made by Her Majesty's Ambassador at Tokyo since, in October, 1952, he re-presented to the Japanese Government, in accordance with Article 18 (a) of the Treaty of Peace with Japan, the claim in respect of losses incurred during the Sino-Japanese hostilities of 1937–41, by Commander J. C. Boldero, Royal Navy, retired.

Mr. R. Allan

This claim is one of a number to which reference was made in the joint communiqué issued after the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister to the United Kingdom in July. Since April the negotiations have made progress.
