§ 41. Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Transport if he will now sanction the trunk road improvement scheme from 45W London Road to Milehouse Lane in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
§ Mr. HayConstructional work cannot be authorised until the preparatory work, which is now proceeding, has been completed. This now includes, in addition to the making of Statutory Orders and land acquisition, an Origin and Destination Survey. This will help to determine the design of junctions between the new by-pass and A.53 and A.525. All these steps must necessarily take some considerable time, but we will get on as quickly as we can.
