45. Mr. E. Fletcher

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps have now been taken by his Department in conjunction with the London County Council and the City Corporation to acquire a permanent site at the junction of Old Street and City Road as a permanent annex to Covent Garden market for the storage of empty containers and produce in bulk.

I am glad to be able to say that the London County Council has instructed its officers to negotiate for the site. I am most grateful to the Council for its help in this matter.
