HC Deb 02 November 1959 vol 612 c11W
46. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much has been saved annually as a result of the amalgamation of the Dorset and Somerset Agricultural Executive Committee services; and how this saving has been achieved, taking into account office accommodation and travelling.

Mr. Godber

My right hon. Friend is satisfied that economies have been secured by the more efficient use of staff, but it is impossible to give a precise figure. It was estimated in 1957 that the saving achieved would be approximately £10,000 per year and I have no reason to assume that this estimate has not been realised.
