HL Deb 14 May 1959 vol 216 cc480-1WA
LORD FRASER OF LONSDALE

asked Her Majesty's Government with which countries they have concluded agreements in the past two years for the abolition of visas, and what negotiations are in progress to this end.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (THE MARQUESS OF LANSDOWNE)

The only Visa Abolition Agreement concluded during the past two years is that with Morocco on October 1, 1958, but an Agreement with Tunisia is awaiting signature. Discussions are at present taking place with Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Mexico and Bolivia, and negotiations are in varying stages of progress. The Spanish Government have communicated a draft Agreement to Her Majesty's Government which is now under consideration.
