asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the shortage of poliomyelitis vaccine in Shetland and what steps he is taking to send supplies.

Mr. Maclay

Yes. Shetland gave no advance notice of requiring a supply of vaccine for use during April, but in response to special requests 1,000 doses have been issued since the beginning of April. This is apart from the supply requested for May, some of which has already been sent.
