HC Deb 26 March 1959 vol 602 cc171-2W
Mr. John Hall

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what representations he has received from the owners of a British vessel, s.s. "Chusan", concerning a recent declaration by United States customs that a proposed round cruise by that vessel would be illegal; and what steps he has taken as a result of those representations.

Mr. Watkinson

The owners of the "Chusan" have kept me informed of the position. I am glad to say that by making a slight adjustment in the proposed itinerary, the owners have overcome the difficulties that had arisen with the United States Customs.
