HC Deb 26 March 1959 vol 602 c154W
57. Mr. Wade

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will now appoint a Commission of Inquiry to examine and report upon the disturbances in Nyasaland and in particular the underlying causes of such disturbances; and if he will include in such Commission at least one distinguished coloured subject of the Commonwealth, having regard to the fact that the conflict in Nyasaland and Central Africa concerns the Commonwealth as a whole.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement I made in the House on 24th March. I have nothing to add to that statement as regards either the composition or the terms of reference of the Commission.
