HC Deb 25 March 1959 vol 602 cc119-20W
59. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Minister of Defence under what conditions the British 105 mm. gun is to be supplied to the United States of America for their new medium tank; and to what extent there will be standardisation of tank equipment for the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation forces.

Mr. Sandys

It is expected that the United States Government will buy a certain number of British-made guns and manufacture the rest of their requirement in the United States under licence. There are signs that other N.A.T.O. countries are also taking an interest in this development.
