asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, to what extent the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research is encouraging investigation of the advances made in bio-chemical research as suggesting analogous developments in methods of generating and storing electricity.

The Department appreciates the possibility that the results of bio-chemical research may eventually be of importance in the development of methods of generating and storing electricity and is always willing to consider ways and means of encouraging any promising ideas in this field.
