§ Mr. H. BrookeThe work of the Central Land Board, which, as a result of the Town and Country Planning Acts, 1954, became largely transitional, is now nearly completed, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I think that the time has come to dissolve the Board in accordance with the provisions of those Acts. A draft Order in Council will be laid before the House very shortly providing for the dissolution of the Board and the transfer of its remaining functions to the Secretary of State for Scotland and myself as from 1st April this year.
I should like to take this opportunity of expressing appreciation on behalf of the Government for the valuable services of the Chairman, Sir Thomas Phillips, and the other members of the Board since its inception.
