HC Deb 03 March 1959 vol 601 cc26-7W
Mr. Malcolm Macmillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he has taken to track down the members of the crew of the vessel, operating in Outer Hebridean waters, who came ashore at Kinlochresort last Friday, armed with rifles, and shot and carried away sheep belonging to local crofters.

Mr. Maclay

It is the responsibility of the police to investigate criminal offences. In response to a request made by the police on 21st February, a fishery cruiser was diverted to provide transport for police officers to Loch Resort, but adverse sea conditions prevented her from making the passage.
